English trade advertising sign c 1870

A wonderful survivor, a sign from the latter part of the 19th century, depicting a canvas weaving business for Messrs Richardson & Mounsey. There are records of business partnerships between the two families from the late 18th to late 19th centuries in Sunderland, with John Richardson being one of the founding investors of the Stockton to Darlington railway.
