A naïve folk art saddlers sign, East Anglia circa 1880

A wonderful survivor. An oil painting on pine-board, bowed over time, heavily varnished and was used as a sign for a saddlers in East Anglia. The original name of the saddler was attached below, now sadly lost due to the ravages of time. On the back of the board can still be seen the ghost of the vertical wooden support used to display the painting.
