19th Century English oil on canvas

A wonderful naïve 19th century copy of a painting held by Birmingham Museums Trust from 1792 titled “John Freeth and His Circle (Birmingham Men of the Last Century)”. John Freeth (1731-1808) was a publican and poet who ran a coffee house in Birmingham (Leicester Arms, Bell Street), where the Jacobin Club met.
